We Have A Date!

Well we have a date for the auction. The auction will go live online on July 9. We will have a live preview day on July 19 and the auction will close on July 23. The purchasers will then have to arrange to pick up their stuff up on July 25 and 26. Once we have full details (marketing info) I will share.

The dates of the auction has been the six million dollar question by everyone that knows about it (including us) and so it is very nice to be able to finally give everyone an answer other than sometime in July.

I cannot adequately express how much I appreciate my sister Cindy and her husband Chad and their boys. They have been working their asses off.

Chad came back over this evening to help with getting some very large windows out of the horsebarn and then headed back so he can be at work in the morning. The windows were very large SOB’s were very heavy. Unfortunately we could not get them out this weekend because we just ran out of space in the trash roll off (We are on roll off number three). Thankfully it got delivered early this morning. Also Chad was able to borrow a couple of large suction cups with handles for moving glass. This made the process so much easier. We muscled a couple out earlier that were not as large as the ones we did today and that damn near killed us. They were very large double pane picture windows. Long story on why they were in there, but they were.

Hopefully we will get a new scrap iron roll off sometime this week. We have completly filled and I mean completely filled the two that we have.

Early this morning Heath and I ran a pickup load of copper, aluminum and brass stuff to a recycler and we got $111.00. Which bought lunch and had a few penny’s left over.

Anyway these last few days have been extremely long and we still will have many long days in front of us, but at least we are starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I know this is tough on my folks, but it has to happen. It is something I have been dreading for years. Jennifer also dreaded it and we had discussed it numerous times and took a “we will deal with it when the time comes”. Well the time has come and she weaseled out of having to deal with it. I just know she is up there in heaven with a shit eating grin on her face saying thank God! Although I know if she was here she would have been right in there with us (grudgingly of course).

There have been some days that all of us would have been accused of doing a black face costume. We have been just covered in 100+ years of dirts, dust and grime and our complexions have been pretty dark at the end of the day.

I feel bad for the boys as they have been having to do this, but they have been overall good sports about it and they (Case in particular) have found some treasures/heirlooms in all of the stuff we have gone through.

Anyway it is just nice to have some dates. Enough for today, I am bushed and we have another busy day planned for tomorrow.
