Today It Was A Photo

Today I was continuing to move house stuff from my grandpa’s house back over to the folk’s house now that the painting is done. My folks have this set of drink coasters that Cindy made for them with pictures of the boys when they were little. Each coaster is different, but there was one that stopped me in my tracks.

It is one of the two of them in little rain hats that Jennifer and I had bought for them when we were in Nova Scotia on a cruise with the Malody’s. Below is a photo of that coaster.

Well for some reason seeing that photo got me choked me up. I had remembered we bought them the hats and we thought they would get a kick out of them. It is a cute photo of the two of them, but it really choked me up today.

That was a fun cruise and lots of good and funny memories from it. We cruised out of Boston and up to Portland, Maine, Bar Harbor, Maine, St John, New Brunswick and then Halifax, Nova Scotia and back to Boston. We flew in a day early and toured around the Boston area. We went to the Harvard Campus in Cambridge and walked around it. Now this was a pretty good hike and I had some new tennis shoes on. Well they got broke in during what Jennifer and I took to calling “The Harvard Death March”. Those Malody’s and their long legs can cover some ground. I think one of their strides is like three of mine. I had some pretty good blisters on my feet by the time we got back to our Hotel. We also walked some of the Freedom Trail and went to the Bull and Finch bar that the TV Show “Cheers” was based on. We had certainly intended to go back to Boston someday to tour more of it, so much history in that area. Of course that did not happen. Oh well maybe I will do it someday in the future.

The folks new refrigerator came today. One of the reasons we did this is that a refrigerator they have in the old milk house had crapped out. So the new one went in the house and the one from the house went to the milk house and the one from the milk house went with the delivery guys to be disposed. Fortunately it all went pretty smooth and the delivery guys actually put the old house one in the milk house for me. I had to put the doors back on it, but they did the heavy lifting which was much appreciated.

Well enough for today.
