Unfortunately I am still testing positive for Covid. I was really hopeful this morning that I would test negative. I feel pretty much normal. I have a little congestion but we have so much smoke it is hard to say if it is Covid or from smoke. Dad says he also feels fine, but he also tested positive as well. So frustrating, but it is what it is. Below is a photo of the smoke from this morning.
We damn near hit 90 here today. Fortunately this afternoon we are getting a good rain storm. It really was coming down. The unfortunate part is there has been a fair bit of lightning associated with this storm, so keeping fingers crossed it does not start more fires.
So far the fire crews have been able to keep the Blacktail Canyon fire just outside Butte contained under 100 acres. It is still burning and will probably be burning for a while. There is so much deadfall from pine bottle kill and it is very rocky terrain. So there are probably large piles of pine needles down in the crevices of those rocks that will smolder and burn for quite a while (probably until next spring).
Politically there has been some very historical activity the last few days. Again, I am happy that Jennifer is not here to live through it, she would have been stressing about it. I do miss being able to discuss this and many other things with her and have been thinking about how some of those discussions would be going. I was so blessed to have a spouse that shared most of my beliefs/positions. We did have our differences but we could cuss and discuss about it, but for the most part we were usually in agreement.
I personally was happy to see Biden step down. I will wait to hold judgement until we see who the official Democratic candidate will be. I will be honest that I am apprehensive about Kamala Harris being the candidate, but guarantee that if push comes to shove I will vote for her before I vote for the Cheetolini and his mini-me hillbilly VP candidate.
I am still working on selling the trailer, I have now also listed it on RV trader. However, I have had some issues getting pictures of the trailer posted on their site. Hopefully that will be straightened out tomorrow. I have a couple of folks with questions but no bites on offers yet. Many folks have shared my post from Facebook and I greatly appreciate that.
Like I have said Jennifer and I made some good memories in it, but it is time for someone else to make their own memories in it.
