Hallelujah I woke up this morning expecting that I might need to plow, well my pipe dream came true. We did not get anymore snow last night. It was a balmy 16 degrees when I woke up.
I woke up early in case I needed to plow. I stripped my bed and washed and dried my sheets and remade the bed and finished getting my electronics gathered up. Then I made biscuits with gravy and sausage for breakfast. Figured all those were softer foods that dad could eat.
I will hopefully will be flying out this afternoon. I was really missing Jennifer last night and this morning as I was packing up my stuff for the trip home. When we traveled Jennifer did the packing of our bags and like many things she was much better at it than me. She would totally agree with that assessment. Needless to say my stuff is not packed as nice as it would have been if she was here. However it got packed, so I will take that as a win.
Colleen took me into the airport. She was nice enough to take me by the cemetery to say a quick good bye, we also went and got a Starbucks my treat for her taking me in.
So made it out of Butte and I am now in Salt Lake City for a couple of hours before I head onto St. George. Fortunately it is a very easy change. I came into Gate A44 from Butte and leave out of Gate A47 that was straight across the concourse.
However did briefly get the shit scared out of me. I was sitting reading my Kindle and caught a movement of rapid little creature come out from under my seat. At first I thought it was a mouse, but was a little bird. Pretty soon it was joined by another little bird. They were going to town cleaning the carpet. Maybe it a green initiative by the SLC airport, which is fine just a long as they don't do their business on me or my stuff.

I did have a " I have to tell Jennifer" moment on the plane from Butte. There was a guy that really looked like a guy that used to work with us at Marathon. I really had to look at this guy several times to make sure it was not him. It was not, but boy they did look a lot alike. So I just had a conversation with her in my head. FYI - she agreed that he did look a lot like the person we worked with.
Fortunately my plane is at my gate so hopefully a crew shows up. It is overcast and snowy looking here, hopefully it holds off until we get out of here.
Well enough for today.
Your bird story made me chuckle. The same thing happened to us on our way up to Butte for Christmas. I was sitting there people watching and out of the corner of my eye I caught a flash of gray scurry across the floor. I was thinking oh great a mouse but then this little bird appeared and looked right at us. Of course, we had to take pictures of him.
The new A concourse in SLC is so nice now. No more riding the shuttle out to the plane is a huge plus.
