Saddened

The airline events of the last couple of days have saddened me. The plane crash in Washington DC is just horrific.

Of course the response of our Orange leader to this event was absolutely horrendous and sickening, but that is to be expected.

Then the Philadelphia crash was scary. It is amazing that more people were not killed from that incident.

There is a whole bunch of people who have entered the club I am part of and I truly feel for them. It is not a club you want or choose to be a member of. You just get enrolled when you lose the people you love.

The last few days I have been having lots of flashbacks to the day that Jennifer passed. I think some of this is triggered by these events as well as some activities that I have been doing. I have come to realize how blessed I was that we got to have our heart to heart discussions, before she passed. I think about the people who lost their loved ones in all of these events that did not get that opportunity and I do feel for them. It is tough enough losing someone, but not getting to have a chance to say goodbye would be very tough. It certainly does not make it easier, but it does give me some comfort knowing that she knew how much I loved her.

This past weekend was a tough one for the Sologubs. My Mom, Dad and sister have all been sick and Dad actually ended up in the hospital on Friday. He tested positive for the flu. He is hopefully getting out of the hospital today or tomorrow. Also on Friday my nephew Case was on a school skiing trip and he took a nasty fall and broke his left leg. It was a pretty nasty spiral type break. So he is going to have a long few weeks as his leg his casted up to his thigh. We are praying that he will not need surgery on it. It was his 11th Birthday the day after he broke it. So he will remeber this Birthday. He was a real trooper in getting treated and did the majority of it without any painkillers. Fortunately Chad was a chaperone and was there with him and took him to the hospital. So please keep all of them in your prayers.

Yesterday was a very busy day. I got up at 1:00 am and then picked up Margot and Allen at 2:00 am to take them to the airport in Vegas. We had smooth sailing until we got to the airport, but we made a wrong turn and had to take a little detour through the long term parking lot, but even with that little detour we arrived in plenty of time. So hopefully they had a smooth trip.

Fortunately traveling at that time of day the traffic was very light. I got back to Mesquite around 5:00 am. I finished up some work for Rotary when I got home. Then I went and played some Pickleball. Then came home and grabbed some lunch and then went to play some Bocce. Last night I was struggling to keep the eyeballs open, but also did not want to go to bed too early. Slept like a baby.

Got a busy week this week. Well I best get a move on. I want to play Pickleball at 11:00 and need to get a few things done before I go.
