Painting Starts Today

Well the interior painting of the folks house starts today. I am praying that it goes quickly and smooth. Cindy and Chad did a fantastic job getting the walls washed. We had to move all the furniture three feet from the walls. So right now it looks like kind of disaster around here. I am just hoping the painting goes quick so we can start putting the puzzle back together again.

Yesterday I took Dad in for a haircut and then Dermatologist appointment. Then got home and helped with getting stuff gathered for the garage sale Cindy is wanting to have. Chad came back with Heath’s little truck last evening and we loaded a bunch of the stuff in the toy hauler portion of their trailer, Heaths little truck and my truck. We then took off for East Helena. Case ended up having to ride with me, because we had all of the available seats full of stuff in the Galbavy vehicles. Case is a kid of a thousand questions so we had lots of discussions about things in my truck and items that appeared on the map. The funniest was that near Boulder, MT there is a place on the map called Amazon. Well of course this caused Case to have a lot of questions about that. He was thinking it was the Amazon store. We had a discussion how there is a lot of places called Amazon, not just the store.

For the sale they needed all of Mom and Dads plastic tables, so we loaded those on the top of my tonneau cover and strapped those down. Fortunately I have a lot of tie down straps in my truck and we strapped them down good and they made the trip to Helena just fine.

The ride home was interesting, we had some wind and rain storms that occurred last night. Thankfully we were just ahead of them on the ride over, but I had to drive back through some of them on the ride home. The wind was really bad in the Clancy, MT area. I actually saw some pretty good size branches get torn off trees alongside the interstate. Fortunately none fell on the interstate.

Of course on the ride home, I was thinking a lot about Jennifer and second guessing how we handled everything leading up to her passing and of her last couple of days. I am still so thankful that she went quickly, but still wonder if there was anything we could have done that would have prevented all of this. So needless to say I shed a few tears on the ride home. I have mentioned that she loved Meatloaf’s “Bat Out Of Hell” album. Well just before I got to Elk Park the song “You Took The Words Right Out Of Mouth” came on the radio and it gave me some weird kind of comfort.

Yesterday was my great niece Lilly’s birthday. She and her brother Bode always send us cute little video’s of them singing Happy Birthday to us. So Uncle Joe made a quick little video singing Happy Birthday to Lilly. It looks and sounds like she had a nice Birthday weekend.

We are two days away from the one year anniversary of Jennifer’s passing, and I find that hard to believe. I will be honest, I am looking very forward to getting back to Mesquite and to being back to my stuff and my life for a bit. I know this is selfish, but I am to the point that I really don’t care, I am going to be selfish and do what I want to do for a bit.

Well I better get up and get some things straightened up before the painter shows up, so enough for today.
