Jennifer loved purses and shoes! No news there.
Once we retired and our clothing attire changed to very casual and I was also thankful for those purses. Mainly because it became “Our” purse. My attire was mainly gym shorts and I did not have a back pocket to put my wallet in so it usually went in the purse, and my car keys usually joined the wallet.
She was not necessarily happy about this arrangement and would bitch that she was not my pack mule. However, she felt it was easier to pack these items versus having to renew credit cards and replacing keys if/when I lost them.
She had good reason to worry. I had a history. Really it was only one event, but it was history and I got lucky all things considered.
I had went to Helena with my parents to watch Heath play baseball. She had stayed in Butte to go to a wedding shower for our niece Hannah. When I got back to Butte, my folks dropped me off at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel. Most of the Dysinger clan was there so I got out of the backseat of my folks car and my wallet must have fallen out of my pocket and I did not realize it until several hours later when we got back to the trailer at the KOA.
Fortunately my wallet was found, it was missing the cash I had in it, but all my cards and drivers license was in it. To comfort myself, I figured the person who took the cash needed it more than we did. However, Jennifer never let me forget about it. The joke was on her, because she got stuck packing my wallet more than I did.
She was just lucky that I had slimmed my “Castanza” wallet down and it was lighter than it used to be but she still was not always happy to be packing it.
Long story short, I will greatly miss having our purse (not enough to get a murse), but I will miss it.
