We have been pretty busy getting Mom and Dads house ready for interior painting. This entails taking down all of their artwork/photos, clearing out China cabinets so they can be moved away from walls. Today we will start washing the walls in preparation for the painting. They have hired a painter to come in and do the actual painting (thank God).
None of this is a small feat. Mom has 5 large China cabinets and all of them are full of fragile stuff (besides China). So far I got them all emptied. Cindy and the boys came back over late last night. They had a busy weekend with the Lewis and Clark County fair. The boys did good with their projects. Both got purple ribbons. Heath also sold two of his art projects. Case did not have anything to sell. They also detailed a car yesterday, so,they have been very busy.
While we have been doing this we have had the Summer Olympics playing on the TV’s in the background. A couple of observations. There are a lot of celebrities attending the Olympics. Also lots of ex-Olympians as commentators.
While Michael Phelps is no doubt one of the best swimmers to have ever graced a pool. He really needs a better hairstylist, that is one of the goofiest and most ridiculous hairstyles I have seen. Oh well each to own, but I find it hard to watch him, with that goofy man bun or whatever you call it. Maybe I am just jealous, since with each year I am becoming more and more follicle challenged.
There have been some wild performances, especially in the gymnastics. These athletes are just amazing on the things they can do with their bodies. The swimming competitions also been interesting to watch and how close some of the races have been. Some of these folks have not placed by mere hundreds of seconds. Of course there have been a few races where the winner was leaps and bounds better than the rest of the field.
It is wild that the surfing is taking place in Tahiti, talk about 1/2 way across the world. Poor Colin Jost who is there to cover the surfing has had a hell of a time. He cuts his foot on a coral reef and then also gets a ear infection. His broadcast last night lounging in a pool with only his butt and torso in the pool was pretty comical for the viewers.
Jennifer loved to watch the Olympics. She loved watching the gymnastics and track and field. She also enjoyed watching the figure skating in the Winter Olympics.
Well I better get to moving we still have a lot of work to do on auction cleanup and getting ready for the painting. Still a fair bit of scrap metal to get in the bin and some aluminum, copper and brass to take in separately.
