Long Day

Today I woke up early (3:30) and could not get back to sleep so decided to just get up and get productive. Stripped the bed, washed and dried the sheets , then remade the bed (I was really missing Jennifer for that she was much better at it then I am) but it's done. Then I remembered that the golf cart was needing to be charged so ran out in garage and got that charging. Threw some towels in the washer and when they were done I ran the dishwasher. Once it was done, unloaded it and then did some prep work for Zoom meeting with my financial planning folks.

It was a good meeting and was very happy with the meeting but I was also saddened. Tom Wozniak is going to be retiring in June. Tom has done a great job for Jennifer and I for many many years. I know we were not even close to being his biggest clients, but he sure treated us as if we were. He always has given us good advice and listened to our wants and needs and helped us reach our goal of retiring early. Thank god we did, because she at least got to taste some of the fruit of her labors before she departed. I will be eternally grateful for Tom in helping us make that happen. I know Tom is leaving me in good hands. I am very happy for him and hope he has many years of retired bliss. Tom is a dedicated Tennis Player but I am sure that he will see the light and pick up playing Pickleball.

After the meeting I decided to work on a project that I have been meaning to do since I got back. We wanted to have the ability to watch TV out on our patio. In particular we were thinking College Football. However we really did not want to have a TV outside permanently. So I came up with the idea to build a stand that we could put the TV on when we wanted to do that and then bring the TV back into the house when we were done. Well I found a video on YouTube that would do what I was wanting to do. I bought the materials and was about half way through building it when I walked into Walmart one day and saw a portable TV/Computer stand that was on clearance for $25. So I bought it, but did not get a chance to put it together before I left for Montana last spring and it has been sitting in the garage since. So Today I decided to put it together and I think it is going to work pretty good. I have a Amazon Fire TV in the bedroom and I have mounted the brackets to hang it on the stand and I can still leave the legs on it for when it is in the house. So all I have to do is take it out and hang it on the stand and plug it in and wallah I have TV on the patio. So I am pretty happy about that.

Then I went up to the Pioneer Center to see what was going on up there. I ran into Allen in the billiards room and he told me he was a bachelor for the next couple of days as Margot was making a trip to California to see their son and that we needed to make a trip to Yardley's for a burger. I told him I was game but I could also cook up some beef and broccoli stir fry tonight and we could go to Yardley's tomorrow night. So we did that.

While I was prepping for dinner I gave Janice a quick call to check up with her as I had not talked to her for a few days and had a nice visit with her.

While I was cooking dinner, my phone started exploding with text messages. It was from my sister Colleen saying that Dad had a bad nosebleed and that she and one of Mom and Dad's neighbors Bernie Hanson were taking him to town to the Emergency Room. Fortunately they got him taken care of and he is back home. Mom said he looked like he had been in a bar fight when he got home, but he is home.

Well it has been a long day and I am going to hit the hay.
