I just realized I have not posted anything for 3 days. I just have not felt like writing.
I am so thankful that Jennifer is not here for this upcoming election. I can tell you it would have made her sick and actually bat shit crazy all the stupid stuff that is going on. However, I would really like to have her around to discuss things like this with her. Like I have mentioned before, we were pretty much of like minds when it came to these sort of things so we could cuss and discuss them. I assure you that she would have been cussing about how this election is proceeding.
I have been staying pretty busy with various activities. This morning I got up and went to the Saturday morning putting tournament then I went downtown to the city’s STEAM center for a children’s book giveaway. It was a beautiful morning with temps in the 60’s however it warmed up quickly this afternoon and I think we probably hit the 100 level again.
The kids book giveaway event is organized by the Eureka Casino and me and three other Rotarian’s assisted giving out a bag of school supplies to each kid and the the kids could go in and fill their bags with as many children’s books as they liked. The Eureka also brought a ton of Cinnabon cinnamon rolls for the kids and those of us volunteering (There is a Cinnabon shop in the Casino). They had little Cinnabons for the kids and full sized ones for the adults. I actually brought a box of full sized ones home and froze them individually for a treat every once in a while.
This was the second time I worked this event ( I missed it last year due to Jennifer’s passing). This years was way busier and better attended than in years past. We had kids from most of the area schools and even some homeschooled kids that attended. We had families from every socitial level. There were folks that you could tell had money and folks that you could tell were scrapping by but they all took home books. It is a neat event. Many of the kids also had fun playing in the STEAM center after they finished getting their books.
The event went from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Then I came home and had a late lunch and watched some college football. Notre Dame and the University of Montana both rebounded from their upset losses last week, so that was good. Kentucky damn near pulled off the major upset of Georgia.
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day as it’s our Pickleball Clubs Sunday Funday event and Sunday evening Bocce is going to resume tomorrow. I have to put together a snack to bring to the Pickleball event. I have decided to make a mini tomato sandwiches with bacon mayonnaise recipe I found on the internet. So I had to run to the store this evening to get a few things I needed to make them, I will put them together in the morning.
Next week is going to be another busy week with both personal and Rotary stuff as we have our Mudd Volleyball tournament next Saturday. So Thursday Friday and Saturday will be very busy with MUDD activities.
Well enough for today, I am going to hit the rack.
