Like I have mentioned before, one of the many reasons I loved Jennifer was that she got my weird sense of humor.
Last night Cindy sent me the below photo from Facebook. The caption on this photo triggered a funny memory.

One morning in 2020 I did my usual routine of getting up early and went golfing. This particular morning I had set my large Yeti mug with my morning coffee on the tonneau cover of my truck while I was putting my golf shoes in my truck and unfortunately I forgot to grab it before I got in the truck and left.
Anyway I did not realize what I had done, until I got to on the Interstate, when I went to take a drink of Coffee. I was not able to easily turn around and go look for it myself. I figured it probably fell off in our driveway.
So I called Jennifer to ask her to go look for it. Now I did mention this was early (5:30 ish) so needless to say she was not real pleased to get my phone call. However she grudgingly did get up and go look and called me back a few minutes later and reported it was not in the garage or driveway.
I was pissed at myself for being so stupid, but realized there was nothing I could do about it. Anyway about a hour and half later Jennifer called me and said she had some good news and some bad news. The good news was that she had found my Yeti, the bad news was that it was in pretty rough shape. I asked her to text me a photo, which she did.
In the photo the Yeti was as flat as a pancake. I took a look at the photo and I called her back and told her that I thought I could buff that out. Well she started laughing hysterically. That folks is one of the many reasons I loved her, she got my humor!
Apparently the Yeti had fallen off my truck right near the main entrance to our subdivision. There was a lot of heavy truck traffic going in and out of the subdivision, as they were hauling heavy equipment and dirt in and rock out for a new section of the subdivision that was being built. One of those trucks must have run over it because as I said it was as flat as a pancake. Jennifer happened to notice it when she was going out to do her normal shopping routine and she stopped and picked it up. Unfortunately no amount of buffing was going to fix it, but at least I gave her a good laugh.
This morning we have about 4 inches of snow and it is still falling. The good news is that it is not blowing like the last storm. So it is one of the peaceful quiet snow storms, which is pretty in December, but sucks in May. Hopefully the snowplow will plow the frontage road at least once before we have to head to town for Dad’s rotary meeting, otherwise it is going to be tough sledding.
