Jennifer really liked Pi Day. She had a favorite T-shirt that had a Pumpkin with the Pi symbol on it. As I have mentioned she liked a good pumpkin pie. It was her favorite pie. That shirt is going on the quilt that Megan is making for me.
I hope everyone has had a good pi day.
My Pi day has been a busy one. I drove Margot and Allen to Vegas and dropped them at the airport and immediately turned around and got out of town. I made it back to Mesquitenat about 8:45 am. It was a very windy ride home. There was a box truck that was having a heck of a time keeping it between the lines and he damn near rolled it once when he got to close to the edge of the road. Needless to say I got past him as fast as I could and kept him behind me.
When I got home I quickly changed clothes and headed up to Bocce. We had some tough games today but my team went 2 for 3. I am proud to say I threw the final ball that secured a one point victory in the final game. Really a blind squirrel finding a acorn situation and I think it was wind aided. In fact one of my team mates was getting ready to concede the point and my ball made a nice last second turn and got just inside the other teams ball by probably a 16th of a inch. Winner Winner chicken dinner!
During Bocce I worked on coordinating picking up a bunch of used books from Marian Fagan that she donated to Rotary for our book sales. Marian had set up two small neighborhood libraries in her subdivision and over the years had collected a lot of nice books and she had them in her garage. Anyway, she is working to get ready to move so she wanted the books gone. Today was the only day to make it happen. Thankfully Andy and his truck were available today and we got them picked up. So Marian was very happy. I greatly appreciated Andy's help.
She had a very nice service for her husband John yesterday. Good thing the winds held off just long enough for the event. I met several of her friends and a couple of her family members who came in to be with her. She is leaving on a trip to Oregon to see her son and his family tomorrow morning. Her and John had this trip scheduled before his death. I will be gone when she gets back, so thus why we needed to make it happen today.
Now Dorothy, Andy and our friend Tom and I are going to drive over to Arizona to the Desert Springs Truck Stop for a Yardley burger. They make a mean burger.
So my Pi day will finish with a burger and probably some sweet potato fries.
So glad you posted this. I always make a pie on pi day. Forgot what day it was. After reading this post I snagged an apple turnover that I made last week and Duke and I shared it. Pretty close to pie! Lynn
