Today is Cindy and Chad’s anniversary. Last night they went to dinner at Lydia’s Supper Club to celebrate. They said they had a wonderful dinner and the best waitress they have had in a long time. They said their food was outstanding.
Since I was supervising the boys I took them to town and we went and played some Pickleball. Both boys were starting to pick it up (once they realized it is different than Tennis). It was just the three of us. I was hoping to get Lydia out with us, but she and Teddy were spending the night with Sam’s folks. So we will have to try and get together on another day.
After we finished playing we then went to Three Bears to get some bottled water. Then it came time for dinner. The boys have pretty different tastes so it can be difficult to get them to agree on a place. We tossed around potential places to go and they would get rejected by one of them for one reason or another.
We finally settled on Bonanza Freeze. Unbeknownst to me Case really likes Sloppy Joes. When I mentioned it as a potential choice, Heath looked up the menu on his phone and mentioned they had Sloppy Joes. Well that sealed the deal for Case. So off to Bonanza Freeze we went.
Case got his Sloppy Joe, Heath had a Pretzel with Cheese and a chocolate milkshake and I had a cheeseburger. Case and I had lemonade (he loves lemonade as well). It was a very nice evening to sit out and eat (which at Bonanza Freeze you have no choice). It is also a good people watching place. Last night there were a lot of out of town folks there. Lots of hikers and people probably from the KOA. Lots of out of state license plates.
The lemonade was good, but not as good as Case’s homemade lemonade (He makes a mean lemonade), but he gave it a high rating nonetheless.
Case usually does not eat well and you usually have to hound him to eat. Not last night, he inhaled that Sloppy Joe. Then Case and I had a swirled chocolate and vanilla cone. He sucked that down as well. Heath was pleased and gave the joint high praise because the cheese for his pretzel was not the “fake” cheese. So in the boys eyes the Bonanza Freeze food gets high marks. They both had been there before, but only for ice cream.
It was one of those nights that Jennifer would have really enjoyed. She would have gotten a kick out of the boys last night and she would have probably had her usual Lolly Ring (Dilly Bar Equivalent) since black licorice was not the “flavor of the day” on ice cream.
Yesterday was a fairly light work day. In the morning, I went and played Pickleball. Chad and Cindy took their car to a friend to have some work done and then Chad picked up some electrical parts he needed for a little electrical project (installing a outlet on the outside of machine shed) so they could plug their trailer in easier instead of snaking the cord under the building door. Then Chad took their trailer to town to empty their tanks. I also hooked up my trailer and pulled it ahead so we could mow the area. I am slowly getting it cleaned out
Heath and I teamed up to mow the yard and the area where our trailers were. Grandpa and Grandma worked on going through old papers and other things from downstairs.
All in all in was a nice departure from our recent days and relaxing day for once.
