Hallelujah Sunshine!

Well we woke up to a heavy fog this morning, but we also had a beautiful blue sky and SUNSHINE! It is amazing how much of a difference sunlight makes to my attitude of facing the day.

Yesterday was another weird weather day. It was nice when the wind was not blowing, but when the wind was blowing (which was most of the day) it was cold. The wind just had a heck of a bite.

We had some visitors yesterday. The Konen’s came out for a nice visit. Jim had a incident where he suffered a high ankle sprain, so he has been laid up for a couple of weeks. Then Lyndsey Lyon’s came over for a nice visit. She just finished her first year of pharmacy school in Missoula. It really brightened Mom and Dad’s day to have her come over for a visit. They are very proud of her and all she is doing.

Since it was a cold windy day, I decided to make clam chowder for dinner. It was a perfect meal for the night.

Last night I for some reason was reminiscing about our trips to Florida when we lived in Louisana. Usually in September/October (after tourist season) we would take a trip over to Florida. We would usually go to the Fort Walton/Panama City/Pensacola beach area. We really liked the white sand beaches. We would just sit on the beach and wade out and float in the water. When we went we usually had small crowds so it was pretty relaxing. Jennifer really liked that.

Over the years, we also made a couple of trips to Sanibel Island and enjoyed it there as well, but we really liked the Pensacola area probably the best. We did make a trip to South Padre Island in Texas as well, but it was not as nice or relaxing as the Florida beaches. However we did find a Italian restaurant that had the best margherita pizza we ever had, which was the highlight of that trip.

Jennifer pretty much ate pizza on every continent she/we visited. Her favorite pizza was Canadian Bacon (or Ham if that was not available) and black olive. She would occasionally broaden her horizons (but usually ended up picking a lot of the toppings off the pizza). Sometimes I swear she would only have cheese, sauce and crust left after conducting surgery on it. Anyway pizza was one of her favorite foods.

Today Mom and I went and saw Danna for haircuts and then I took Mom to the eye doctor’s office to pick up her new glasses.

Then had a quick dinner and then had my Rotary meeting. Tomorrow is Dad’s rotary meeting. Well enough for today.
