Grout

I have been busy trying to get the grout cleaned on my floors. I have been attacking it in small sections at a time. At first, I was attacking in on my hands and knees with a tooth brush to scrub the lines. That was killer on the knees (even with knee pads) and back. So got on the good old Amazon and ordered a grout brush that is on a long handle. So I can stand and scrub the grout line. That was a game changer and the best $11 bucks I have spent in a while. I am approaching the 1/2 way mark. Did some this morning and will try some more later today.

I have a four part process. I hit the area to be cleaned with a steam mop to hopefully help loosen dirt and grime in the grout lines. Then hit it with my grout brush and cleaning solution (1 part rubbing alcohol, 1 part Dawn dish washing soap, 2 parts hot water). Then I wipe up the area with a Microfiber towel which I put on a old swifter handle, then I hit the area again with the steam mop again. Once I get it all done I will hit with the floor cleaner that I bought a while back.

I think I have mentioned it before, the one thing we did not like about this house was the choice of flooring in the main/kitchen area of the house. Don't get me wrong it is a nice quality flooring, but it is the color (white) with white grout. When we first bought the house we considered pulling the carpet in the living area and putting more tile in. However after living here for about a week. We decided against that. Thank God that would have been a expensive little mistake.

We also considered putting in new flooring and once we woke up from the knock out punch of the price tag for that (FYI it was high 5 figures, almost 6) we decided we could put up with it.

Tuesday was a nice day with minimal wind, so had a good Bocce and golf outing. We won 2 of 3 in Bocce. My golf game was a little rough, I played like crap for the first 14 holes but was coming around on the last four holes. I could not hit my driver for the crap, but it started to coming around once the "don't give a shit factor" kicked in. Gold is very much a head game sport.

We continue to get periods of wind usually right about 2:00 pm which sucks because that is right when our Round Robin Pickleball is. Yesterday started out ok, but then it just got plain ridiculous.

Last night I had Rotary meeting for combining the two clubs. We are making progress on the various activities but it is slow and tedious. Our club did not meet this morning because most everyone had a conflict.

Well I better grab a quick bite and jump in the shower. Bocce at 9. There are showers in the area. Hopefully they stay away.
