Well the golf tournament finished up yesterday. I ended up winning a little money. I won $20 for a closest to a pin on one of the Par 3’s and I won $80 for getting second in my flight. So that was fun. I have rarely walked out of a tournament with some cash in my pocket. I am usually just donate.
Yesterday there was a old biplane that was flying around Mesquite. That triggered a memory from Jennifer’s and my honeymoon when we took a biplane ride (I think I have already written about that). Anyway, it brought a smile to my face as I had that memory. Funny thing was I started playing better after seeing that plane. So maybe she sent it to help me get my head back in the game and in the money.
Last night I had my weekly Rotary meeting and then I went up and played Pickleball, in the Wednesday evening round robin. Unfortunately the winds started picking up so it cut play a little shorter than normal. However, I was able to play one game with the guy I am playing with in the weekend after next Pickleball tournament that our Pickleball club is hosting. He is a snow bird and just got back to town.l
Today I am going to go up and play Bocce and then I am going to play golf with my friend Randy, then I will be the coordinator for tonight’s Pickleball round robin (provided the winds are not too bad). So another busy day scheduled. I will try to sandwich a little housework in between Bocce and Golf.
It still is very weird not having Jennifer here. I still often walk in the door and expect her to be at our kitchen table reading either a newspaper or book on her Kindle and I would give her the download of whatever I was doing and it still breaks my heart that she is not there. I so miss her company on so many fronts. However it is what it is. I can’t change it and I continue to just try to put one foot in front of the other and continue on and cherish all of the memories of the time that we did have.
Well I better get ready for Bocce and the day ahead. I probably should clean up my golf bag and clubs.
