On the 19th my Facebook page had a memory from February 2021 pop up on my feed. It was a clip of a spoof video I did for collecting melting snow water runoff from the roof of the house for toilet water.
February 2021 certainly was a eventful month. We had the big snowstorm, our little feather friend overnight guest, no water for 5 days. So to say that cabin fever was setting in was a understatement.
I decided to try and have a little fun and shot the video. Jennifer I think was more than half afraid that I was going slap ass crazy, but she put up with it. Not like she had any choice at that point. Certainly one of those "for better or worse" moments in those wedding vows.
I have been fairly busy the last few days. We got rained out for Bocce on Tuesday, so a group of us went bowling. Before I went to that, I went down to our Rotary book sale room and worked on getting some new used books on the shelves. Our club has a bunch of books in storage and we have brought some of those in and are working on culling some of the books which are in poorer condition or duplicates of some books. Tomorrow our club is going to have a work meeting where we will work on that as well. Then I met the folks at the Virgin River Casino bowling alley and we bowled. Maybe I should say they bowled and I threw the ball down the gutter. It was not one of my better performances, but we had fun and a few laughs. I took Jennifer's ball down to see if Margot or Dorothy might want to try it out. Dorothy is going to give it a try for a bit.
Then I went and got my haircut, so I look halfway presentable for our niece Lilly's play on Saturday. I am going to drive down to Vegas to go see the play. It is Les Misérables. Lilly has a solo in the play and Saturday is one of her solo nights. So will be nice to see everyone and I am looking forward to that.
Today I spent the majority of the day working on compiling my 2023 tax information and got that sent off to our accountant. It rained again this morning, but it quit around 10 or 11 and it dried up enough that we could play the 2:00 pm Round Robin event. It was pretty windy but we played anyway.
This evening I had a nice phone call from my good friend Greg Dykes. It was nice catching up with him. He and his wife Kelly are expecting their fourth grandchild any day now. This is the first for their daughter Bethany. I am very happy for them, but it does make me feel old. I remember when Greg and Kelly had Bethany. I remember Kelly bringing their son Greg Jr who was just a toddler and Bethany who was just a few weeks old into the Lafayette office for a visit and so everyone at the office could see her. When you see these kids now having their own kids, it makes you feel old.
Well enough for today.
