Today Cindy, the boys and I got a few things done in preparation for the auction.
We cleaned out a old room that dad had built in the barn when I was a young kid. We had a milk cow for a little while when I was young but it just was too much work with Dads work schedule so we did not use it long for milking. We did use for a lot of other things over the years, but then it became storage for stuff. We got it mostly cleaned out this morning. We will need the help of the auction guys to get the few remaining items in the room out.
We got several of the tractors out of the machine shed this afternoon we are going to have to get some new batteries for one of the tractors and the old Studebaker milk truck. Mom, Cindy and Case (Heath stayed with Dad and I) ran to Boulder to work on getting a title for a old Honda 70 motorcycle that we have. Dad had bought it off a neighbor 40+ years ago and never got a title to it. It was always just used by my sisters and I to run around the ranch. Last Sunday a deputy had to come by and run the Vin to make sure that it was not stolen and then some additional paperwork had to be completed and photos of the bike taken and then of course that had to be filed in Boulder and a fee paid to get a title on it.
It was Heath’s turn to cook dinner tonight. He chose Homemade Macaroni and Cheese and Kielbasa. Cindy got the boys a cute little cookbook and she wants them to cook to help them with their math skills and see how math is important in every day life. Since Mom and her were gone I helped him get started and then Cindy took over supervision when she got home.
Since there were six of us and the recipe was only for four we had him double the recipe so we put his math skills to the test. He did good and it was decent Macaroni and Cheese (better than the old Kraft stuff out the box).
It’s Case’s Turn tomorrow and he has chosen Fried Rice with Orange Chicken and Lemonande Cindy got some Orange Chicken from Costco, but he will have to cook up the fried Rice.
After Dinner, Cindy and the boys ran to town to shop for Chad’s Father’s Day gift.
I went out and worked some more on cleaning out the trailer. It is tough because of the good memories we had in it and when I come across things I often get teared up. Tonight was tougher for no particular reason that I can think of other than it was such a beautiful night weather wise. It just was one of those special Montana evenings. Not a cloud in the sky, green grass, elk everywhere. One of those nights on why we planned on spending our summers up here. I made a little progress but not a ton. I will keep plugging away at it as I can.
Well enough for today, another busy one tomorrow.
