A Day She Would Have Enjoyed

Had a very nice day with Jeanne and Rob yesterday. We had a beautiful morning on our drive over to Missoula. May have been the nicest drive I have ever had over there. The Clark Fork River was very calm and the sky was crystal clear (living up to the Big Sky moniker) and we had light traffic.

Jeanne and Rob needed to make a quick stop at their accountant’s office to sign a form and pick up some paperwork, so we did that, we then went and grabbed a nice lunch at McKenzie River Pizza. We had some time to kill, so we drove around Missoula. We went to Fort Missoula and drove around it. One thing I did not know about the fort was that the it was a alien detention camp during WWII.

We the drove around town and looked at some of the old houses and buildings around town. We then went to Tom’s retirement party. It was a very nice party. This was all of ours first visit to Pintler Wealth Management’s new office building. It is very nice and the party was on the roof of the building, which has a marvelous view. You really could not ask for a nicer day for a party. I was very happy for that.

We were one of the first people to arrive so we lucked out and got to visit one on one with Tom and hear about his plans for retirement. That was very nice. He is going to a very busy guy this summer and fall. He may be wanting to come back to work to get some rest.

They crew at Pintler did a great job of sending Tom off. He more than deserved it. They had wonderful food and drink. The young lady who catered the party did a wonderful job. She had some smoked salmon street taco’s that were delicious. One thing she had that was killer was a strawberry pico de gallo and a green hot sauce that just made those taco’s killer. She also had a watermelon, cantaloupe and cucumber salad with feta cheese that was so delicious and refreshing on a warm day.

So we had a very nice time and then a nice drive home. Jennifer would have so enjoyed the day and I felt her spirit with us all day. Jeanne and I had a good laugh as we drove by east Missoula about the visits they had over the years to Vern’s junk yard with their dad.

The nice thing about Montana in the summer is having daylight until late in the evening. So last night after I got home I was able to reinstall the battery on my trailer. I got that done so I will be able to maybe hook it up and pull it out of the field up closer to the house so I can get to cleaning it out and washing it up to get ready to sell. I had done some of that last fall (I had cleaned out most of Jennifer’s clothing items) but still have plenty more to do. I know it is going to be tough and will generate a lot of memories, but it needs to be done.

Well I better get a move on and get productive. So enough for today.
